EXIT/ENTER detail
Entrance and exit at the same time. Contradicting to i, a symbol which unites the beginning and the end. The door which you open for the first time or another one closed forever. An entrance – leading to a cosy home or to a room full of ghosts. An exit – to freedom and broad roads or to obstacles difficult to overcome.
A door which is open for one person is closed for another. A gate which leads different people to different future. For me it is an entrance, for you it is an exit.
Should the distance between them be walked or it does not exist? They can be one and the same thing or can be separated in the space.
Lost in the darkness one returns to the point where they stepped into it.
For example, the world economic crisis – again. Spoken about, constantly and loudly announced. How can we get out of it? Every country and every person individually is looking for an exit to the way out or for an entrance to hide behind. The road that leads to them is short or long, difficult or easy – it’s different. Different for the different individuals, determined by their characters, intuition and the decisions to be taken – to enter or to go out and go on.
Every nation has its own identity and its traditions remodel its people. In people's minds, the words “entrance” and “exit” bring different associations. Their meaning is defined by the ethnicity but also by the customs. When written down, their meanings get different nuances. The unique handwriting, created by every different hand, adds even bigger subjectivity.
The differences can prevent people from finding the common exit which they are looking for. Even if they enter through the same entrance, it has different meaning for the different people; it leads them to their own searches, which do not coincide with these of the others. In the dark room behind the door lies the simple truth. People, after passing through their own exit, can end up at the same place – the place where optimism turns into reality.
